The biggest problem faced by pupils in PSLE Science is not knowing how to phrase their answers properly or completely for open-ended questions in Booklet B. Many think that their answers are correct which turn up to be wrong. Sometimes, they do not get any mark at all for a question even after writing one whole paragraph to explain.

Questions involving control set-ups can be quite tough to score in a PSLE Science paper. Pupils either do not understand the purpose of a control set-up or do not know how to draw a control set-up. In this article, I will give you two specific examples on how to tackle questions involving control set-ups.

A Science procedural question requires a pupil to explain in steps on how an experiment should be carried out to achieve the aim of the experiment. Most of the time, pupils will miss out the final step in concluding the aim of the experiment and lose crucial marks in a Science exam paper.
