Your child has received the PSLE results. No matter what the results are, whether they meet your expectations or not, do give your child a BIG HUG to assure him/her that his/her self-worth is not determined by PSLE results!

No matter how your child’s results turn up to be, as long as he is eligible for secondary school, you and your child will have to plan for the next phase of education after PSLE – Choosing a secondary school under the Secondary 1 (S1) Posting Exercise. Basically, your child will be posted to a secondary school based on three criteria: his PSLE results, his choice of schools and the vacancies available in the schools.

Do you know that the PSLE T-score is going to be replaced by a new PSLE scoring system in 2021? It is a move away from “excessive competition” among young learners so that each student can learn at his own pace and better plan his next step in the education journey.

Your child has to clear his doubts and close the learning gaps whenever possible. Many a time, the skills and concepts learnt are in progressive order. If the foundations are not laid well, it might affect the next level of learning.
