New Mobile App Launched for Schools to Update Parents

The Parents Gateway app, a mobile app that enables schools to perform administrative functions as well as update parents on their programmes, was launched by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung at Huamin Primary School.

Parents can access the app, available on iOS and Android, with their SingPass accounts, SMS 2FA or OneKey tokens. The app enables parents to complete essential administrative tasks such as consenting to their children’s participation in school activities. Additional services such as updating personal contact details and travel declarations will be made available on the app by the end of 2019.

Parents Gateway will be progressively rolled out to all schools by the end of 2019. Presently, 66 schools, participants of the Early Adopters programme, have introduced the app to their parents. Mr. Ong also added that the usual system of paper forms will continue to be in place for parents who do not have Internet access in their homes or own a smartphone presently.
